Custom Engraved Electrical Panel Tags in Tampa Bay and Central Florida

If you are an electrician or electrical contractor in the Tampa Bay area, you already know that panel labeling is not optional. Inspectors look for it, code requires it, and your customers expect it. But getting quality engraved panel tags locally, without waiting on shipping from an online retailer or settling for handwritten labels, is harder than it should be.

That is where we come in. At Busy Bee Printing and Engraving in Plant City, we produce custom engraved phenolic panel tags for electricians and contractors across Tampa, Brandon, Lakeland, and the surrounding Central Florida area. We laser engrave every tag in-house, and most orders have a fast turnaround so you are not waiting around when you have an inspection or a job deadline to meet.

What We Engrave

Our panel tags are engraved on phenolic plastic, which is the industry standard material for electrical identification. Phenolic is durable, heat resistant, and holds up in the environments where electrical panels live. The engraving is permanent and clean, not printed or stamped, so it will not fade, peel, or smudge over time.

We produce tags for a range of applications, but the most common jobs we see from electricians include:

Circuit identification tags. The bread and butter of panel labeling. Each tag identifies what a breaker or circuit controls, making it easy for anyone working on the panel to locate the right circuit quickly. Whether you need a set of twelve for a residential panel or a hundred-plus for a commercial job, we can handle the volume.

Panel designation labels. Tags that identify the panel itself, including the panel name, voltage, amperage, and phase information. These are typically mounted on or near the panel enclosure and are one of the first things an inspector looks for.

Disconnect and switch labels. Tags for disconnects, transfer switches, and other devices that need clear identification. These help ensure that anyone working on or near the equipment knows exactly what they are dealing with before they touch anything.

Equipment identification tags. Labels for motors, transformers, junction boxes, and other equipment that needs to be clearly identified for maintenance, troubleshooting, or compliance purposes.

Why Electricians Come to Us Instead of Ordering Online

You can absolutely order panel tags from Amazon or one of the big online engraving shops. Some of them are fine. But here is what we hear from electricians who have switched to working with us.

Turnaround time matters. When you have an inspection on Thursday and you realize on Tuesday that your tags are not done, shipping from an online retailer is not going to save you. Because we are local and engrave everything in-house, we can turn most panel tag orders around quickly. Many electricians drop off a list and pick up their tags within a day or two.

You can talk to a real person. If your list has a typo, if you need to change a color, or if you want to add a few more tags to the order at the last minute, you are not submitting a support ticket and waiting for a response. You can call us, text us, or stop by the shop.

Accuracy on the first run. We send a proof before we engrave. You review the text, confirm everything is correct, and then we run the job. That extra step prevents the kind of errors that cost you time and money when you get a box of tags in the mail and three of them are wrong.

No minimum order drama. Some online shops have minimum quantities or tiered pricing that penalizes small orders. If you need eight tags for a residential job, we will make you eight tags. If you need two hundred for a commercial build-out, we will make you two hundred. The process is the same either way.

How to Send Us Your Tag List

We have made the ordering process as simple as possible because we know you are busy on the job site, not sitting at a desk formatting spreadsheets.

Email or text us a list. Most electricians send us their tag information in a spreadsheet, a photo of their panel schedule, or even a list typed out in a text message. However you have the information organized, send it over and we will work with it.

Include tag size and color if you have a preference. If you already know what size and color combination you need, let us know. If you are not sure, we can recommend the standard sizing and colors that most electricians use for the type of job you are doing.

We will send you a proof. Before we engrave anything, you will get a digital proof to review. Check the spelling, check the order, and approve it. Once you give us the green light, we engrave and your tags are ready for pickup.

That is it. No complicated online ordering system, no account creation, no waiting for a quote to come back three days later.

What We Hear From Electricians

The most common thing electricians tell us is that they wish they had found us sooner. A lot of guys start out with printed labels or handwriting their panel schedules, and then they get called out on it at inspection or realize it looks unprofessional on a job they are proud of. Once they switch to engraved phenolic tags, they do not go back.

We also hear from electricians who were ordering online and got tired of the wait times, the shipping costs, and the hassle of dealing with errors remotely. Having a local shop that can turn things around fast and fix issues in person is a real advantage when you are juggling multiple jobs.

Serving Electricians Across the Tampa Bay Area

We are located in Plant City, which puts us right in the middle of the Tampa Bay and Central Florida region. We regularly work with electricians and contractors from Tampa, Brandon, Riverview, Lakeland, Valrico, Winter Haven, and everywhere in between.

If you are further out and prefer not to drive to our shop, we can work with you remotely by email and ship your tags directly to you or to your job site.
